On Tuesday, April 18, we arrived by a ferry to the island of St. John from St. Thomas.
After we settled into our cabins, we walked massive amounts of stairs to get to the
beach. Finally we got there, and the water was crystal clear at 80 degrees
(approximately). While swimming, we played a friendly game of football.
During our free time, we explored our cabins. Most of the cabins are small
with 2 single beds, a couch, and an extremely uncomfortable cot. There's a
small propane stove for cooking and little porch connected at the back. Some
cabins are much larger, but only if you are lucky enough (chaperones). After
free time we ate a dinner consisting of hoagies with lunchmeat. In the pavilion,
we ate dinner and then listened to a two hour lecture given by the leaders about
the upcoming events. After the lecture people either went swimming, or went
back to the cabins. Some people saw an octopus. |
